Year 3 Go back in time. Jan 12
The 2 Celtic ladies that joined us from their tribe (Canny and Alana) met us from our chariot before taking us to their village. They were surprised at what the children of the 21st century got up to and we had to explain some of our words that they did not understand. We then went for a walk to explore their land, stopping to pick up sticks and leaves to help us with our weaving. We then tried weaving with the natural materials, with very good results. Before our mid day meal we learnt how to weave a fence from willow. At lunch Canny and Alana showed us their types of food which were very traditional. They also allowed us to try some of their bread. They then told us a traditional story before the afternoon activities. In the afternoon we learnt how to make felt and how to make wattle and daub to make a Celtic round house. At the end of the day we weaved a mini fence to take home. By Year 3.
