An important part of being an accredited Healthy School is our approach to healthy eating. Pupils learn about healthy eating and the benefits of having a balanced diet through lessons and activities in school. Children are encouraged to bring in a piece of fresh fruit on a daily basis to eat at morning break and have access to fresh water during the day.
Our new school dinner provider Caterlink will be taking a keen interest in providing children with a balanced, healthy meal and use locally sourced ingredients when available and in season. Caterlink also have the flexibility to make changes to the menu if required and will offer freshly baked flavoured bread and salad to supplement the meals for hungrier children. They have also assured the school that portion sizes will be apropriate to the age of the child.
If your child currently has packed lunches remember you do not need to opt for a whole week of school meals, maybe try school lunches a couple of days per week. The cost for a meal will be £2.20 as from Tuesday 25th April. Please use the ParentPay or PayPoint facility. CLICK HERE to pay for your childs dinners.

Please also see our Packed Lunch Policy for tips on providing children with a healthy, balanced packed lunch from home.
Caterlink are offering parens and carers a chance to meet them and sample the food. They will have a stall set up on the Junior playground on Tuesday 25th April from 2.45pm and on the Infant playground on Wednesday 26th April from 2.45pm (weather permitting - alternative location will be arranged in case of rain). Please come along and see for yourself.
