Home Support

Children are only in school for 20% of a whole week, so it is vital that there are strong home/school links if children are to gain the most from their time with us. This is achieved in many different ways.
Homework is given to children on a regular basis and it is requested that this is returned for marking at the set time. Children are also given work to learn such as spellings and number facts, such as the "55 Club". Tests papers are placed on the school web site so that parents can see the progressions required and also help children to learn those number facts.
Reading Logs act not only as a means of recording progress made in reading, but also as a means of parents and teachers communicating with each other.
Parents Evenings are held at the end of Term 1 and the end of Term 4 and provide an opportunity for parents to come in to school to discuss the progress that their children are making and also to explain targets that children will be expected to achieve. An end of year report is also sent home so that parent can see the progress that has been made.
However, we do have an open door policy and if there are any issues, which parents need to address, they are more than welcome to come into school at any time to discuss them.
We believe that children will only be able to achieve their full potential if they are supported by their parents/carers who also take an interest in everything that their children are doing in school.
